The wholesale sector is one of the San Gabriel Valley's biggest industry categories, representing 24 percent of Valley businesses in 2010. A San Gabriel Valley Foreign Trade Zone has been established to make it easier and more cost effective for local businesses to participate in international trade.

Retail Sales in the San Gabriel Valley reached nearly $14 billion in 2011 and is expected to reach $15.2 billion in 2012. The region also plays a crucial role in Southern California's retail market of over $220 billion.
