Asm. Blanca Rubio speaks with Partnership members





The turnout was strong at the Legislative Breakfast meeting with Assembly Member Blanca Rubio on Friday morning. Assembly Member Rubio spoke with energy and passion about a variety of policy issues including a proposed gas tax increase to repair streets and bridges and the need for transparency and accountability in revenue allocations to local jurisdictions and expenditures. She also emphasized the importance of building relationships with her fellow legislators irrespective of party of affiliation, as well as the need for business friendly policies and career technical education opportunities to spur the creation and retention of jobs. Following the meeting, several attendees commented on their impressions of the new Assembly Member’s high energy, good listening skills, and frank dialogue about issues of concern to residents and businesses in the 48th District and the state.
