Transportation & Infrastructure
The San Gabriel Valley is conveniently located in the center of Southern California. Just minutes away from Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire, it is easy to access new markets, locate services, ship products and find employees.
Seven major freeways and three freight and commuter rail lines traverse the San Gabriel Valley, offering efficient transportation options. Metrolink commuter trains, Metro Foothill Gold Line Light Rail and Metro and Foothill Transit buses also serve the region.
San Gabriel Valley businesses find convenient airport connections at Ontario International or Bob Hope (Burbank) Airport, while El Monte Airport and Brackett Field (La Verne) offer service for general aviation aircraft.
The nation's premier gateways for international trade and commerce-the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach-are connected to the SGV through an integrated network of rail and highways. The region offers Foreign Trade Zones to promote international relationships as well as other resources for businesses interested in importing and exporting.
Three east-west (210, 10, 60) and three north-south (57, 605, 710) freeways serve the 385 square miles of the San Gabriel Valley.
Three major freight lines cross the San Gabriel Valley, providing direct linkage from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach - the two largest container terminals in the nation. A multi-billion-dollar grade-separation rail project known as the Alameda Corridor will expedite the flow of goods by truck and train between these harbors and the container yards on the western edge of the Valley. The region also offers two Metrolink commuter trains that traverse the region from east to west.
The 605 and 105 freeways provide easy access from the San Gabriel Valley to LAX. Ontario International Airport is also easily accessible from central and eastern San Gabriel Valley, as is Hollywood Burbank Airport from the west. General aviation is provided by two Valley facilities: San Gabriel Valley Airport in El Monte and Brackett Field Airport in La Verne.
