Supervisor Hilda L. Solis was sworn in as Los Angeles County Supervisor for the First District of Los Angeles County on December 1, 2014. She was re-elected to a new four-year term in 2018. Solis served as Secretary of Labor under President Barack Obama and also represented the 32nd Congressional District in California from 2001 to 2009. She worked in the Carter White House Office of Hispanic Affairs and as a management analyst with the Office of Management and Budget in the Civil Rights Division. The first woman to represent the San Gabriel Valley in the California State Legislature, Solis served in the California State Assembly from 1992 to 1994, and in 1994 was elected to the California State Senate.
Supervisor Kathryn Barger proudly serves the residents of Los Angeles County’s 5th Supervisorial District — the county’s largest — spanning 2,800 square miles, which includes 22 cities and 70 unincorporated communities in the San Gabriel, San Fernando, Crescenta, Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys.
Rep. Judy Chu was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in July 2009. She represents the 27th Congressional District, which includes Pasadena and the west San Gabriel Valley of southern California. Rep. Chu currently serves on the powerful House Ways and Means Committee. In that Committee, Rep. Chu is a member of the Subcommittees on Health and Human Resources. She also serves on the House Small Business Committee and is a member of the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax and Capital Access.
Rep. Norma J. Torres represents California's 35th congressional district which includes Bloomington, Chino, Fontana, Montclair, Ontario, Pomona, and Rialto. She previously served as a State Senator, Assembly Member, and as a Mayor and Council Member in the City of Pomona. She has served as Chair of the Committee on Housing and Community Development.
Rep. Gil Cisneros began his Congressional career in January 2019 for California’s 39th District based in Orange, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino Counties. In Congress, he serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Committee on Veterans Affairs. He is also a member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, the New Democrats, the LGBT Equality Caucus, the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition, and the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
