Santa Anita ParkThe glamour of Santa Anita Park harkens back to its opening on Christmas Day, 1934. Its “Streamline Modern” architecture recalls the years when Carey Grant, Bing Crosby, Betty Grable, and Lana Turner roamed its Art Deco halls. (The track itself is also a star, appearing in movies with the Marx Brothers and Shirley Temple.) Santa Anita’s importance to racing history can not be overstated. The Park has hosted the Breeder’s Cup a record ten times, and the track has seen historic moments with Seabiscuit, Zenyatta, Bill Shoemaker, Lucky Baldwin, and many others. Today, Santa Anita Park also serves as an elegant venue for banquets, weddings, and corporate meetings, and hosts a monthly flea market. |
